About Dean Harrison

Dean Harrison has been a Workload Scheduler user for 33 years, who is always trying to make the product do things it was never intended to do. In the 13 years since Dean moved to IBM and later to HCL Dean developed the Workload Automation Programming Language (WAPL) to allow users to push the limits of the product even further. Along the way this turned into a strange affinity with frogs, which have featured in at least one ASAP presentation each year for over a decade. This includes one which was delivered remotely – Transatlantic – thanks to Eyjafjallajokull grounding all the planes that month. As well as being a techie, Dean is a singer/songwriter and has written the ASAP theme song for the last three years.
