One of the most exciting features introduced in IBM Workload Automation version 10.2.3 is the Private Label Settings functionality. This new capability allows you to personalize your Dynamic Workload Console (DWC) interface by adding custom branding elements, such as logos and icons, to enhance your organization’s user experience and ensure company compliance.

Getting Started with Private Label Settings

To access this feature, simply navigate to:

  1. Administration Tab
  2. Private Label Settings

This brings up a menu that allows you to upload and apply a custom image to your DWC environment.

For this walkthrough, we’ll be using the Workload Automation symbol as our custom logo (as seen in Image 1). Let’s explore how updating these settings transforms the interface.

Step-by-Step Customization

1.  The Default DWC Interface

Before making any changes, your DWC interface appears with the default settings, as shown in the image below.

2.  Updating the Logo

After uploading and applying a custom logo, the interface updates accordingly. You can see an example of this in the following image.

3. Updating the Logo & Icons

If you take customization further by updating both the logo and the icon symbols, the result can be seen in the image below.

4.  Login Page Customization

Depending on whether you choose to update just the logo or also the icons, your login page will also reflect these changes:

  • The image below shows the effect of updating only the logo.

  • The following image shows how the login screen appears when both the logo and icons are updated.

Practical Applications of Private Labeling

Many customers use dedicated DWC instances for different environments, such as Production, Testing, and Development. To avoid confusion, organizations often apply unique branding to each DWC instance, such as:

  • Using specific company logos for Test, Dev, and Prod environments to help users quickly identify which system they are working on.
  • Customizing logos with text overlays like “Test,” “Prod,” or “QA” to eliminate any ambiguity.

Conclusion

With the Private Label Settings in Workload Automation 10.2.3, you can tailor your DWC interface to match your company’s branding, improve usability, and minimize the risk of working in the wrong environment.
